What are big companies doing in order to be more socially responsible?

Answer:
-Big Bussines are not cutting down their Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR) programmes.
-Communications group Singtel's CSR is divided into four quadrants :
Community which supports initiatives focusing on youth and educaion; environment which aim to reduce carbon emissions and cut down on paper usage; Market place which involves corporate governance;and Workplace which provides learning and development opportunities and quality work-life balance for its staff.


Question 2
How important it is to be socially responsible? And do you think it is still possible to make a social impact during the recession?



Answer:

It is important by being the responsible by living our values to enable to serve people responsibly and work towards a sustainable future.
I think it is possible. It is because even though it is now during recession we should not relax .We need to do something . One corporation should encourage their employees and the citizen to abide laws . By abiding the laws , the corporation and the employees will be socially responsible

Question 1
What are some of the things that schools in Singapore are doing in order to take care of the environment?

Answer : The things that schools in Singapore are doing is that for science and social studies classes, some schools are asking their students to bring electricity bills from home to track their month-to-month energy use and they are teaching them to save energy . Lakeside Primary School aims to have at least half its 600 primary 4 and 5 pupils to take part in such an exercise.

Question 2
Do you think one person's effort in reducing, reusing and recycling will make a difference in saving the environment? what steps have you taken in the effort to save the Earth?

Answer:
I think one person is not enough . For me , everyone has to participate in reducing , reusing and recycling . It is because if everyone' s effort it will make a difference in saving the environment . If one person's effort it will make only a small difference . The steps i have taken in the effort to save the Earth by do not waste electricity by swithing off the lights when not in used. By doing this we can reduce the bills of our electricity . I recycle the newspapers and the papers that have been used and i throw it in the recycle bin . By doing this , we will not cut many trees. I proud to do this it is because by doing this i can Save The Earth . I hope many people can participate by doing this .

How does the treatment programme of the Singapore Prison Service help sex offenders ?
Answers :

The Singapore Prison Service help the sex offenders by learning about the way they think and how their actions flow from this . An awareness of this process is supposed to help them choose not to commit sex offences when the urge arises again.

Question 2
Do you think that sex offenders should be given a second chance in the society? State your reasons.
Answers :

Sex offenders should be given a second chance . It is because they can change their bad attitude to a new good attitude. They also are apart of our society. If they do not have any jobs after going out from the prisons , we can help them . To me , they are also humans and they too have feelings and about their offenders , we should forgive them.We should help them not left them out .We should give them chance to work too.
